Platinum status reached!

As of my last ride, I now have 5,088 miles in ultracycling.com's mileage challenge.
That means I've earned the "platinum" medal. When I race the 508 next month, I'll also have earned the "year-rounder" medal.

It's a long-shot, but I might have a chance at being in the top-5 in one of the mileage categories. A top-5 finisher also gets a plaque.

Now to focus on the 508! (See www.the508.com)

BTW, here's a photo of me after the Lighthouse Century in Newport, OR (19 August). (I was threatening rain, so I rode my old Specialized Sirrus, which weighs a little over 30 pounds. I bet I was the only one out there using downtube shifters. Retro, yeah!)
